Just a reminder that the volleyball and football flash sale store will be closed tomorrow night. Get in there and see if there is any cool Panther apparel you would like to purchase. Thank you!!!
Just got the billboard up! It looks amazing. This is located going out of John Day toward Mt. Vernon across the highway from Sinclair gas station! We love it!
There are two flash sales through BSN sports open with specific Panther apparel and other accessories. They are sport specific. The first link is for volleyball.

Hello, Prairie City Community!
Please write in a Prairie City School District staff member for this award! the information is attached!
Thank you and Go Panthers!
Open gym basketball will still be happening Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 6:30. Thank you.
I wanted to give all incoming 5th grade families a heads up that next year 5th grade will not be included in middle school athletics. Historically 5th grade has not been included but because of lower numbers and combined classes we included them. Now that numbers are going up we have more kids on a team than is manageable in our old gym. Sorry for any inconvenience this creates but Parks and Recs programs should be up and running again next fall for your 5th grade age child to participate in if that is an option for you. If we do not see a large turnout in sports we will revisit this idea in the fall. Have a great summer.
If your student has any sports uniforms or school owned apparel could you please have them bring it to school tomorrow and turn into Mr. Colson. I assume over the past 2 years a few things might still be in your kids possession with COVID confusion and all. Just trying to get as much accounted for as possible. Thank you.

Hello Prairie City Families,
With case numbers from this week and last week, we will be moving to the extreme risk factor for our county next week. Once in extreme and operating onsite, we are required to offer BinaxNOW rapid COVID testing to symptomatic and exposed students upon request. In order for your child to be tested we need to have a written consent form signed by the parent in order to implement the test.
By no means will any student be tested without this written form signed and dated. This is a requirement by the Oregon Health Authority and the State of Oregon for K-12 schools to offer this rapid test.
Please click on the link: https://5il.co/rokq for more information.
If you have any questions, please call the school.
Thank you and Go Panthers!
Hello Prairie City Families:
I wanted to let everyone know that graduation will take place on May 28, 2021 at the Prairie City football field at 6:00 pm, weather permitting. If the weather is not cooperating, we will move it to the New Gym. This year will not look like last year and we will have seating for everyone with the gorgeous background of Strawberry Mountain. We will still have the mandate of being in compliance of the COVID-19 regulations. If you have any question, please call the school.
Thank you and Go Panthers!
I regret to inform everyone that the games against Monument for middle school football and volleyball have been cancelled. The high school volleyball game against Dayville/Monument for today has been cancelled as well as the high school football game for next week. We are still going to do intrasquad games today at 4 for middle school and 5 for high school when we will also recognize all the seniors. Sorry for the last minute bad news. Billy
There will be an Oregon Public University virtual tour for prospective college students and their parents on April 6th at 4, April 7 at 1, or April 7 at 6. Please go to the link and register if you are interested. Thank you. Mr. Colson

Just a quick update. There will be no games against Grant Union this week. The only contests for this week are all on Thursday in Prairie City. High School Volleyball will be at 5:00 with recognition for all seniors playing volleyball and football. Middle school volleyball at 4 for A and B and then flag football to follow around 5:30. The football games against Echo have been cancelled as well. Sorry for the update but look forward to a good day on Thursday afternoon in Prairie City. Thanks. Billy
Good Afternoon Prairie City Families,
I wanted to let you all know that we have a new positive COVID case in our school. I have attached the letter through this link: https://5il.co/qrfz. Please read and if you need further information, please call the school at 541-820-3314. We are working diligently with our local health authority to make sure we are in compliance.
Thank you!
Just a reminder that the middle school football game against Culver is going to be played at 1:00. Thanks.
Under the Student Assessment Bill of Rights, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and Oregon’s school districts must provide families with a “Notice of Statewide Tests and Opt-out Form” 30 days before the start of statewide testing.
This year, school has been significantly disrupted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and other factors. In response, ODE asked the United States Department of Education for a temporary pause (also known as a “waiver”) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math testing. A pause is also being requested for science testing, but science testing is not subject to this opt-out rule.
• If this waiver request is approved, then statewide ELA and Math testing will not happen this year, and there will be no need for parents to submit opt-out forms to their child’s school.
• If the waiver request is not approved, test windows will open on April 13, 2021.
Please click on the link to pull up the opt-out form: https://5il.co/qmqh
ODE will update your district regularly with news about the waiver.
Thank you and GO Panthers!
I know board appreciation has ended but wanted to give another shout out to these special people! Thank you Porche Kite of the ASB leadership team for the design!
Go Panthers!!!
