Today was the 100th day of school for preschool. We celebrated our accomplishment by decorating 100th day crowns and glasses with Mrs. Howard, making fruit loop necklaces with Janelle, doing 100 gross motor skills with Mrs. Wright, and popping 100 balloons for the grand finale. Part 1

5th grade has been learning about Biomes/Ecosystems. They each got to create their own ecosystem. They chose from – Tropical Rainforest, Temperate Forest, Desert, Tundra, Grassland, Marine, and Freshwater.
Shout out to Emma Field for taking her knowledge of argument writing to the 5th-grade class at Humbolt Elementary. She spent a few days teaching them how to write a claim and organize their essay. We are proud of you Emma for setting a positive example and mentoring others.

Paisley brought a goat for kindergarten sharing.
Miss Cami has been teaching about soil layers in Farm to School in kindergarten. Today they made a treat using Oreos and other items to demonstrate those layers. They topped it off with a gummy worm.
During Farm to School time, the first-grade class made an edible example of our layers of soil. They even included a worm!

Prairie City is offering a youth t-ball program for children 5-7 years of age. Registration is open from March 1, 2024 to March 22, 2024. The season will be April 29, 2024 to May 31, 2024.
Cost to participate is by donation.

3rd grade had a blast during the Dr. Seuss stations! Thank you all the parents who organized this fun event!
The first-grade class was invited to have lunch at the Senior Center! They read to anyone who would listen. They then led the flag salute and sang a song! After that, they enjoyed a wonderful meal!
Seniors in US government wrote to their local representatives regarding an issue of their choice. The federal house representative wrote back with personalized responses to the students.

The vision for the Bates building started 6 years ago. Mrs Wright and Mr. Hallgarth worked on this and it has finally come to fruition. This will impact the school and community for years to come! Thanks to everyone for all the help with this project these past 6 years.
